Description
Build : 1.5.0-20-ea-b00
Bundles location : /net/nightsvr.sfbay/export5/test/ServiceTag
Platform : linux-amd64
Test spec : http://sqeweb.sfbay/deployment1/SQE/testing/ServiceTag/ServiceTagTestSpec.html
Bundle : jre.rpm

1. When jre is installed with Sun Servicetag software available on the machine from RPM source, directory <JRE>/lib/servicetag contains neither servicetag nor registration.xml files. And it is not registered with servicetag software. After manual registration (com.sun.servicetag.Installer), missed files are created, and registration is successfull. This is NOT reproducible with linux-i586 32-bit bundle at /net/nightsvr.sfbay/export5/test/ServiceTag. It is also NOT reproducible with self-extracting (.bin) bundle of the same build.

2. When jre is installed without Sun Servicetag software available on the machine, registration.xml file is not present at <JRE>/lib/servicetag directory. See STS006 in test spec.
