Description
A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
Latest version of Java shall pick up font settings and from desktop properties. This is only true if I am runnig Gnome, but I prefer KDE and have no way to run Java applications with antialiased fonts.

JUSTIFICATION :
All other applications (QT and GTK) uses antialiased fonts and Java looks ugly without this. The system can use antialiased fonts and I dont think half the Linux userbase shall be left outside because they prefer another desktop environment (KDE).

Comments
EVALUATION This request comes down to supporting KDE, which we currently don't. In the mean time you can enable LCD, or AA text, by way of the system property 'awt.useSystemAAFontSettings'. See http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/2D/reference/faqs/index.html#Q_How_can_I_specify_the_text_ant for complete details. A related RFE is the ability to control Swing's AA settings. See 6274842 and 6302464.
