Description
jmap currently prints various heap statistics. In addition, if jmap can dump entire heap snapshot in a file, users can do postmortem heap analysis of OutOfMemory situations. Refer to "Comments" section as well.

EVALUATION

Hprof binary format dump is created by jmap when used with command line option
-heap:format=b. When jmap is run with the new option, it produces 'heap.bin' in current directory. The heap.bin can be used with Heap Analysis Tool (HAT). Please refer to http://ccc.sfbay/5109224 for specification and other details. Refer to "Suggested Fix" for Webrev URL and attachement (webrev.tar).
