EVALUATION The new connection dialog fixed in 6245902 has a new UI that keeps the hostname/port and user/password into the same dialog box. If the jmxremote authentication is enabled in the remote VM but the user/password is not entered in the dialog box, jdk7 jconsole only shows connection failure but it didn't tell the user that the connection fails due to authentication and requires it to enter the user/password.
