EVALUATION We need the following information. 1. java_install.log from the $TEMP directory 2. a msi .log file by running with the /L command (see: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/silent.html) 3. Were there any other error messages prior to the 1722 error dialog? Such as Update Failed, or anything like that? ###@###.### 2003-11-10 There may be issues with patching installations that install into directories that have strange characters in it, such as "?". Installing into a regular directory with all English characters may be a workaround. ###@###.### 2003-12-12 The packing and unzipping performed correctly. The log file indicates that the installed directory does not have foreign characters, and they are using either win2k or winxp. It must be the file indexing problem. ###@###.### 2004-04-28
