MAJOR.MINOR registry key and the CurrentVersion string removed during uninstall:

Steps to reproduce:
- on an Itanium machine install sdk1.4.2
- upgrade it to sdk1.4.2_01
- uninstall sdk1.4.2_01 or even sdk1.4.2
- check HKLM/Software/Javasoft/Java/DevelopmentKit. MAJOR.MINOR registry key and the CurrentVersion string removed.

EVALUATION This is happening because we are using installshield to create these registries. We do this because we had problems calling RegUtils.dll on 64-bit systems. The fix would be to eventually get RegUtils.dll working for 64-bit systems. ###@###.### 2003-09-02q This is a duplicate of the 64-bit installer effort bug. ###@###.### 2004-12-02 19:59:47 GMT
