Description

Name: nt126004 Date: 12/10/2001

java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1-b24)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1-b24, mixed mode)

Java Webstart 1.0.1

GUI issue: When I connect to an appliation that is on a server that has HTTP
authentication, the authentication dialog box is hidden by the javawebstart window.
I have downloaded a program from our server on to my local machine. Whenever
I click on the shortcut, that I created, Webstart looks for a newer versions of the binaries.
These binaries are on an http server that must authenticate. So it
displays the authentication dialog after the splash screen, but before the actual screen that has the title
Java Web Start 1.0.1. This is the screen that covers the dialog box.
I have to use Alt-Tab to access the authentication box.
If a person doesn't know about the Alt-Tab functionality on windows they
will be unable to authenticate. This seems like its just an issue that web
start tries to do authentication before the splash screen.
