Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.3.1
Using JRE version 1.3.1 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

Use Windows policy editor (poledit.exe) to switch the local users's Windows NT
Shell/Custom Folders/Custom Desktop Icons property off. This appears to affect
the Desktop value of the registry key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders]
Run any applet with the java console turned on, to see that the user home
directory is now the Windows directory rather than the profiles\userid
subdirectory. I don't think this is correct functionality, and in any case it's
not what's documented at
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/security/PolicyFiles.html
:-)

WORK AROUND Name: boT120536 Date: 07/15/2001 The problem our customer reports is with the policy file, so the workaround is to put the policy file in the Windows directory. ======================================================================
