JTabbedPane should allow clients to specify tab orientation. For tall, narrow tabbed planes, 
tabs may be placed on the left or right, but the horizontal orientation of the tabs looks odd 
and wastes a lot of space. It would be nice to be able to specify a vertical orientation for 
the tabs, like the tabs in a three ring binder.

EVALUATION There are certainly usability problems with rotating text on a vertical axis, however this would improve the look of JTabbedPanes with tabs placed on left or right. amy.fowler@Eng 2000-03-17 I'm combining this into RFE 4499556.
